Testing and quality assurance according to the World Quality Report[1], accounted for as much as 26% of the total expenditure on IT budgets in 2017. That being said, test automation is NOT delivering on its promise and is currently seen as an under-exploited resource in the QA and testing world: “The average level of automation for test activates is around 16%.”

A defining factor for successfully applying test automation in software projects is choosing the right framework and introducing the right set of test automation tools. This can be a daunting task, especially in light of changes in the software development world.

With the mainstream introduction of Agile, DevOps, TDD, BDD etc. what framework and toolset should you choose for your automation?

To help answer this question we have invited Mario Matthee the Head of SQA Architecture and R&D, Global Testing Solutions at DVT, who has been studying this problem for a number of years and has published numerous articles and papers on the subject. Mario will share his findings, insights and battle scars with respect to identifying and using the latest automation tools. This will be followed by a panel discussion, facilitated by Bruce Zaayman, Managing Executive of DVT United Kingdom and other tech experts who have gone on the automation journey and will encourage them to share their views and assessment of the test automation journey.
