About this Event

AN EVENING OF FAITH, HOPE and LOVE...

Saturday 16th May 7.30pm (bar opens 7pm) St John's Church 18 Hyde Park Crescent, London, W2 2QD

English Baroque Choir & London Nordic Choir under the leadership of Jeremy Jackman & Carina Einarson

Join us for the world premiere of Lux Mundi; renowned Swedish composer Fredrik Sixten's breath-taking choral response to global polarisation, set to texts from King James Bible.

Commissioned by London Nordic Choir and English Baroque Choir, it is a musical journey from the depths of darkness to the promise of light in three movements; Faith, Hope and Love.

Inspiring, fresh and brave, expect influences from Nordic folk music, intricate Baroque fugues, exquisite harmonies and soaring melodic lines.

To further strengthen the bond between both cultures and artists, the evening also features English and Scandinavian choral treasures by Purcell, Vaughan Williams, MacMillan, Alfvén, Gjeilo and others.
