Chris Shepherd is an artist, writer, filmmaker, and British comedy legend. He’s done everything—from the 43rd World Stare-out Championships with Paul Hatcher for BBC’s Big Train comedy sketch show, to music videos for Reverend and the Makers, Holly Johnson, Lambchop (as HeCTA), and The Wave Pictures.
He joins Senior Lecturer in English Literature Dr David Hering to talk about his debut graphic novel Anfield Road, a story of coming of age in 1980s Liverpool, which was an Observer graphic novel of the month.
In his varied career he has also created animations for BC Camplight, Sara Pascoe, Nathan Barley, et al and has won many international film awards, including a BIFA and two BAFTA nominations.
Chris is also a senior lecturer at Central Saint Martin’s as well as curator and co-founder of Bar Shorts film nights at The Garden Cinema.

There are a number of FREE University of Liverpool student tickets at all festival events. Students who sign up to receive their free ticket will need to show their student ID when they arrive at the venue.
