Event description

Description

Chris Williamson MP is a fantastic cutting edge speaker - knowledgable, experienced, inspiringly enthusiastic and accessible.

With a campaign fully supportive of Jeremy Corbyn he regained his Derby North seat on 8th June this year and, in the wake of the horrific Grenfell Tower Fire, has been appointed Shadow Minister for Fire & Emergency Services.

A longstanding friend and ally of Jeremy, Chris has been active in the Labour Party since the 1970s. This is his second term as MP for Derby North and he was twice Leader of Derby Council.

As well as serving as a politician, Chris has worked as a mechanical engineering apprentice, a bricklayer, a social worker and a welfare rights officer. He's also a member of the League Against Cruel Sports and has been vegan since the 1970s.

We had such a great evening the last time he came to speak to us - it was a real political education and so encouraging, with an invigorating discussion on a range of issues. So come along with your questions and - if you can, but no worries if you can't - some food to share, for an evening to remember.

ENTRY IS FREE (any donations gratefully received and will be put to good use spreading the Labour message, but no obligation)

GET IN TOUCH ON THE EMAIL BELOW to let us know what food you might bring if you know in advance.
