Christmas Carol Workshop & Trafalgar Square Performance for Samaritans
Sun 11 December 2016, 13:00 – 17:00 GMT
Join Award-Winning Conductor, Hannah Brine in an exclusive workshop learning to sing Christmas Carols and Songs before performing at one of London's most famous landmarks, Trafalgar Square all in aid of Central London Samaritans.
Take part in an exhilarating workshop with one of London's brightest young conductors, before joining over 100 others to be part of an exciting scratch choir to sing for 1 hour under the Christmas Tree of Trafalgar Square.
Tickets are £20 (booking fee: £2.07) which is a 100% donation to Central London Samaritans. The ticket price includes your workshop, sheet music and rehearsal MP3s, refreshments and your performance at Trafalgar Square. £20 funds five phone calls to the service from individuals in emotional distress.
We will also be shaking our collection tins on the day to drum up more donations for this life-changing charity.
The workshop will begin at 1pm at Virgin Money Lounge, 30-31 Haymarket, London, SW1Y 4EX (closest station Piccadilly Circus).
Your performance at Trafalgar Square will be from 4-5pm and friends and family can come and watch.
Age Restrictions: 18+
Dress Code: Please dress appropriately as you will be singing outdoors. We do encourage Christmas jumpers and festive head ware (santa hats!)
About Central London Samaritans:
Central London Samaritans is the only emotional support service in London open round the clock, every day of the year. Every year we receive over 100,000 calls for help. We listen, giving people the time and space to work through their problems and find their own way forward.
About Hannah Brine:
Hannah Brine is a freelance choral conductor and singer based in London. She founded and conducts two large community choirs, Kensington Singers & Victoria Park Singers and also conducts the ITV choir. She also works with Music in Offices, conducting Fremantle, Rothschild and Engine office choirs.
In 2015 the BBC named her as a recipient of the inaugural BBC Music Day Unsung Hero Award for launching Victoria Park Singers in Hackney (described by the BBC’s Head of Music, James Sterling, as ‘stunning’).
