Event description

Description

The first PTSD999 Carols for all Christmas celebration, will be held on Thursday the 14th December at St John the Baptist church, Cockayne Hatley 7.30pm.

There is no better way to kick off the Christmas celebrations than with a carol service led by our very own Rev. Barbara Johnson, Chaplain to PTSD999, The Blue Hero Foundation and Honorary Associate Member of The National Fire Service chaplains of Great Britain and the Islands. To honour and thank our Emergency Services who have without doubt had a rather busy year.

Please join us and distinguished guests for an amazing evening of your favourite carols, readings, poems and Christmas music.

This will be a church service like no other you have attended!!

The Church of St John the Baptist is situated at the gates of an ancient hall and dates to the thirteenth century. It contains numerous high quality works of carved wood and stained glass, mostly from the abbey of Alne near Charleroi, Belgium. Dating from 1689, these works were "liberated" (I'm sure he paid for them) from Flanders following the Napoleonic wars by the Rev. Henry Cockayne Cust, parish rector from 1806 to 1861.

After the service there will be probably one of the largest vats of mulled wine seen this side of Lapland and some specially chilled Laplandic beer blessed by God's number one special envoy, Rev. Barbara.

Please reserve not only your place in heaven but also a place in one of the beautiful carved pews for the service, by replying to rev.barbara@ptsd999.org.uk

If you need a lift to the church please dont hesitate to mention it in your reply.

Dress Code is Christmas Jumpers and silly hats!

Rev B says Hi, God Bless and don't be late and dont wear a silly hat!
