The Esterhazy Singers will be performing their highly popular Christmas concert at St Andrew Holborn on Thursday 10 December. The programme includes James Whitbourn’s playful Missa Carolae alongside popular Christmas choral music and readings by the talented Margaret Jowett. From ‘Ding, dong merrily on high’ to ‘The twelve days of Christmas’, this performance guarantees to set your spirits soaring – particularly as there’s the opportunity join in with a few old favourites should it take your fancy!
Named after Haydn’s patrons – Princes Nicholas and Paul Anton Esterhazy – The Esterhazy Singers has performed all of Haydn’s choral works as well as a wide range of other repertoire, from Renaissance polyphony to ambitious contemporary music and is honoured to have Countess Marianne Esterhazy as patron.
Dynamic young conductor Esther Jones is active as both a conductor and singer, and in addition to The Esterhazy Singers, she teaches at the Royal Academy of Music and is Deputy Musical Director of the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain.
