About this event
This year for Christmas at the Caves we will be joining Peter Pan, Tinkerbell and the Darling children and flying to Neverland for a magical adventure.
Just think of the happiest things and venture deep underground into the enchanting depths of the Caves to explore our sparkling subterranean wonderland. Pick up your Passport to Neverland and follow our trail, journeying past the Lost Boys' Hideout and Wendy's House, braving Captain Hook and the Crocodile in Pirates' Cove, marvelling at the Mermaid Lagoon, meeting Nana as she tidies the Nursery and offering a magic coin to Peter Pan's wishing well.
Take a photo with our towering Christmas Tree, then hark! a bell rings and it's time to follow the leader! The Chief Elf will call your name when it’s your turn to meet Father Christmas in his cosy cave and enjoy a private visit, with a special gift for the children exclusive to 2025.
Now wave goodbye to Neverland and sail back to the Mainland to savour a warming hot chocolate and other seasonal treats in the café, and find a treasure trove of perfect gifts in our Christmas shop.
There’s still more to enjoy - practise your flying at our photo point, where you can gather the family for a special festive photo.
Then head to our Christmas Craft Workshop, bedecked in paper chains, for your creative craft session.
And don’t forget to post your letter to Father Christmas, making sure to tell him all your Christmas wishes!
Opening hours:
10am- 3pm, 29 and 30 November. 10am-5pm, 6 and 7 December, 13 and 14 December. Then, as the big day draws nearer, we will be open daily, 10am-5pm, 19 to 23 December. We do not increase our prices closer to Christmas!
Tickets:
Tickets are £15.95 per child, plus booking fee, and include their adventure to Neverland in our Christmas Caves, a visit with Father Christmas, a Christmas Craft Workshop session and an all-new gift (valued at £10) to take away. Up to 2 adults per booking are free and no ticket is needed. Additional adults cost £5 each to be paid for on the day. Please be sure to check our Frequently Asked Questions and Terms & Conditions carefully prior to booking, as we cannot offer refunds on tickets, or move bookings.
This event is run by The Margate Caves Community Education Trust. We are a registered charity, number 1155904, and all profits from our Christmas event go towards preserving the Caves for our community.
T&C’s
1. When you purchase your tickets, you are accepting that these terms and conditions form the basis of any contract between The Margate Caves Community Education Trust and you. A contract does not exist between you and the Margate Caves for the sale of any tickets, until we have received and accepted your order and received payment in full. Once cleared funds are received, there is a binding contract between us.
2. The description and price of the Christmas in the Caves experience you order will be shown on the Caves website at the time you place your order. There is an Eventbrite booking fee in addition to our ticket price. Once you have paid, we will not increase the price of your tickets.
3. All children wishing to meet Father Christmas and receive a gift require a Christmas at the Caves ticket. Babe-in-arms not requiring a gift are free of charge. Up to 2 adults per booking are free and no ticket is needed. Additional adults cost £5 each to be paid for on the day.
4. Only one booking per customer per day – multiple bookings will not be allowed into Father Christmas’s Cosy Cave at the same time.
5. Due to size limitations, group sizes to see Father Christmas are limited to 6 people, including children.
6. All children aged 15 years and under must be accompanied by an adult. All children are the responsibility of their parent or guardian and must be supervised at all times. The Caves are a heritage site and must be treated with respect - guests should take direction from our Elves to ensure everyone’s safety.
7. We cannot issue any refunds or change bookings unfortunately. Tickets cannot be swapped or names changed. Latecomers will not be admitted.
8. Details of the event, along with dates and timings of event may be subject to change.
9. Once purchased, online tickets may not be used in conjunction with any other offer. Any discounts or offers online are available for limited quantities and periods only.
10. This is a family-friendly event and we expect all guests to be respectful and mindful of all other guests and team members. The Margate Caves reserves the right to refuse entry. Unacceptable behaviour, aggression and violence will not be tolerated.
Access
Please note that the experience is in the Caves and as such is not fully accessible; there are 32 steps to enter the Caves and access is not possible for pushchairs, buggies and wheelchairs.
There will be time spent in the Caves as part of your visit and there may be some waiting to visit Father Christmas. If your child will struggle with this we recommend booking into the first time slot of the day.
