Event description
Get ready for the holiday season and join us on a magical winter wonderland journey to Blenheim Palace!

About this event

You will be transported in style from school so you can sit back, relax, and enjoy your complimentary festive breakfast. Your day will start by escaping the bustle of the high street by exploring the Christmas Market in the Great Court at your own leisure. Next, you will take a journey into the story of The Nutcracker re-imagined within Britain’s Greatest Palace where you will explore the Palace rooms, each one exquisitely transformed and filled with hidden surprises – from the toymaker’s workshop on a frosty Christmas Eve; through the glistening Land of Snow and onto the candy-cane Kingdom of Sweets adorned with the sweetest of treats and larger-than-life gingerbread men. It’s a fairy-tale world where nothing is quite as it seems. Afterwards you will have some more time to enjoy the elaborate Christmas market; wander through over 70 boutique chalets filled with an assortment of artisan products which make irresistible gifts and tempting treats for foodies this Christmas.

Cost: £50 includes roundtrip transportation from the school, entrance to the Christmas Market and the The NutCracker experience. Tea and coffee plus festive goodies will be served prior to boarding the bus. Please plan to arrive by 8:45am and we will return before school is out. Refund requests will be granted if/when your spot is fulfilled by someone on our waiting list.

Blenheim Palace is a true gem and definitely worth a visit. Home to the 12th Duke of Marlborough and birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, Blenheim Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site boasting a long and diverse history. It was built as a gift to John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough, from Queen Anne and a grateful nation in thanks for his victory at the Battle of Blenheim on 13th August 1704. Today, the Palace is home to one of the most important and extensive collections in Europe, which includes portraits, furniture, sculpture and tapestries. (also see www.blenheimpalace.com)
