Juliet from the Butterfly Tree Glass Studio welcomes you to this 5-hour fused glass workshop in Brunswick Village Newcastle upon Tyne. You will be introduced to working with glass and be guided; step by step, to translate your chosen designs into up to three 26 x 10cm or four 15 x15 cm pieces of glass gifts
The workshop is suitable for all ability levels as designs can be adapted to be as simple or complex as you would like. You really don’t need to be at all ‘arty’ to create beautiful glass pieces. You can bring images of what you would like to make, and there will be an assortment of templates for you to choose from.
The teaching will be a short session at the beginning of the workshop and Juliet will then be there to support and guide you to develop your skills at your own pace. The workshops are small so there is plenty of one-to-one support (no more than 4 people). Workshops will be held in the studio or; weather permitting, in the garden.
All tools, glass, teaching techniques and kiln firing is provided. We have a wide range of multi-coloured glass to choose from; including, sheet glass, frit, stringers, Tabitha’s Emporium Murrine and more. plate stands will be provided, or wooden stands can be purchased on the day.
During the course you will learn about all the basics in fusing glass. including
1. types of glass,
2. how to safely cut glass,
3. 3 main types of fusing and how to create your design appropriately for each type
4. Building beautiful glass art from design to finished produce
