Details

A fantastic evening of your favourite soul, funk, R&B and disco music from the 70’s to the 00's and featuring Heather Small, the voice of M People, performing her greatest hits. Incognito’s lead singer – Imaani, with soul superstar – Zalon Thompson, along with some of London’s other great singing talents and powerhouse London Soul Choir will also perform some of the greatest soul and R&B classics supported by a killer 8 piece house band.


The event is a fundraiser for Cancer Research UK and Macmillan with all ticket sales and donations going to the charities (event costs already covered thanks to our amazing sponsors). There will also be a silent auction on the night to raise extra funds for the charities and an after party with a top soul DJ.


The night promises to get everyone grooving and will get your Christmas season off with a bang!

The Artists

Heather Small

Heather Small is best known for fronting the 1990s band, M People. Small's career has spanned over seventeen years with M People hits including "One Night in Heaven", "Moving On Up", "and Search for the Hero", and also as a solo artist with "Proud". Small has always remained in the public eye having performed at the 2012 party to celebrate the handover of the Olympic games from Beijing to London. The title track of her 'Proud' album has gone on to become the soundtrack to a whole host of other very special events including the 60th anniversary of VE Day in Trafalgar Square, the launch of Queen Mary 2, the Tsunami Relief Concert and England's victory at the Rugby World Cup celebrations. Heather will be performing all her big hits, live on stage.


Imaani

A terrific singer in the Soul/R&B tradition, Imaani’s CV is long and impressive. She first came to prominence as the UK’s 1998 entrant to the Eurovision Song contest. Her worldwide tours, television, live and recorded output includes work with the likes of Gloria Gaynor, Carleen Anderson, Michael Bolton, Lulu and Beverley Knight. More recently, Imaani is one of the featured singers for many years with the iconic band “Incognito”. A powerful and charismatic vocalist, Imaani will perform some of her favourite soul classics on the night.


Zalon Thompson

Powerful soul singer, Zalon Thompson is most famous for his backing singing for Amy Winehouse, performing on her Back to Black album, touring with her for over 3 years and together collecting 5 Grammy awards. Zalon has since won acclaim for his work with Dionne Bromfield on her debut album performing Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell's hit "Ain't No Mountain High Enough". Zalon has now released his own debut album with a great response and he will also be performing all the big soul and R&B classics.


London Soul Choir

The London Soul Choir is a combination of London’s best soul choir groups who come together to perform the best in classic and modern soul music. A powerhouse of sound, the choir is almost 100 strong and have now performed at some famous venues and events including Underbelly and Blackheath festivals and the Royal Festival Hall. The chior will be performing some great numbers from the original R&B singers of the 60s right through to modern Soul from the likes of Prince and Beyonce. They never fail to impress anyone who loves this genre of music.


Other Singers

Imaani and Zalon will be joined by some other superb young and talented singers – Rebecca Lewis, Nicholas Albert and Megan Syrah, singing backing vocals and some lead numbers.


The Band

Our singers for the event will be backed by an outstanding 8 piece house band led by amazingly talented musical director and keyboardist - Karme Caruso who is famous for recently running the live shows of amongst others – Peter Andre, Joyce Sims, Omar, Jocelyn Brown, Blue, Pixie Lott and Gloria Gaynor.

DJ

Our house DJ for the night will be the legendary Fitzroy from Soul Survivors. Fitz is well known in the soul scene running his famous music interest magazine and members group The Soul Survivors. He has interviewed the greatest artists over the years and his DJ skills always get the house grooving!
