Create a useful-sized Christmas tote bag perfect for everyday use or as a thoughtful holiday gift! In this class, you’ll learn how to make a durable and stylish tote featuring a large patchwork front pocket using the ‘quilt as you go’ technique. Instead of a magnetic snap, your bag will have a recessed zipper closure for extra security, and fusible fleece will be used to give the tote structure and long-lasting durability for daily wear.
Once you’ve completed this festive project, you’ll be inspired to create more totes with different seasonal themes like Summer or Autumn! This class requires basic sewing machine skills, making it ideal for beginners ready to expand their crafting repertoire.
Skill level : Basic sewing machine skills required.
You will need:
- 1/2 metre of upholstery weight, Wool, Wool mix fabric
- 1/2 metre of lining fabric
- 1/2 metre of Fusible fleece
- 20cm of 4 different quilting cottons ( Christmas theme or other)
- 20” dress zip
- Matching main fabric thread
