Christmas With DeepChats - Spoken Word Sessions

We welcome you to DeepChats - Spoken Word Sessions

Come and join us in bringing some Christmas spirit this December! What better way to start off the festive week than by joining us in the warmth of community, art and sharing.

*CHRISTMAS SPECIAL*

For this particular DeepChats Session - I encourage everyone (speakers and non-speakers) to:

1. Prepare a Christmas Haiku - Google's description: A haiku is a three-line Japanese poem with a \(5,7,5\) syllable structure. Traditionally, it focuses on nature or a season, but modern haiku can be about a wide range of topics and often captures a specific moment in time. The lines are unrhymed and are meant to create a brief, evocative image. 
2. Wear one thing (ANYTHING) Christmas-y. Eg. Hat/Tinsel/Jumper/Reindeer glasses??

We'll be staying on a little later after the event finishes at 10:30pm to enjoy your company and have a general chat, seeing as it's already the holidays! (I definitely won't be working the next day!)

Please do stay, if you can, it would be lovely to hang out!

As per usual - We encourage anyone who would like to: Recite a poem, share a verse, tell or sing a story, spit some bars, share some love...This is a safe place to do so!

This will be our finale for 2025, and I'd love to thank you all for helping make DeepChats a staple fixture over this year!

The idea was born from my love of spoken word and my desire to share my experiences as a single father, including the trials and tribulations of separation. The idea is to create a safe space to be able to help/guide/support anyone else going through a tough time. I wish it to be a place for us to share the happy times and the sad times.

Time: Arrive from 7pm to grab yourself a drink, order some food, find yourself a place to sit and let's speak! We will start performances at 7.30pm.

Limited parking on site but there is plenty of free parking on the surrounding side roads.

While this is predominantly a Spoken Word night, themed around family matters, you are more than welcome to share about other topics. Rough around the edges? A work in progress?

We welcome it ALL!!!

We also welcome mothers, daughters, sons, your aunts, uncles, cousins half removed... all members of the family, including FRIENDS that are family too! Spread the word with me, let's enjoy an evening together in the Kinks Room this Summer!

NB. These sessions are for grown-ups, please leave the little ones at home.
