Event description
Unwind, create and enjoy at our first Forest & Norris Floristry collaboration, hosted by floral designer Anja Norris and Whisky Weasel

About this Event

About this Event

In a special first-of-a-kind Christmas event, you will create your own beautiful Christmas wreath to take home with you. Using the finest natural seasonal materials, Anja will teach you the key principals of wreath creation in a fun, relaxed and fascinating workshop. The workshop will be held in a COVID-safe, private bar setting, and tickets are strictly limited to a small group of people per session. Groups must be no larger than 6 people.

This exclusive collaboration will focus on the British sourced and Forest themed flowers and botanicals that are in season for December.

You will receive a tall Forest spirit and mixer on your arrival to the Cat & Fiddle while you are guided step by step on how to make your wreath, you will have your own tools and be able to select the greenery of your choice.

A short break for a chance to get a breath of fresh moorland air and a delicious home made mince pie will be swiftly followed by a bitesize Whisky tasting by one of the Cat and Fiddle’s very own Whisky Weasels.

Finally, you will be presented with another tall forest spirit and mixer of your choice to enjoy while you finish off your beautiful creation at your leisure with the fireplace roaring away, some traditional music playing in the distance and Anja on hand to offer some guidance. Our lovely little shop will also be open for you to stock up on Gin, Whisky, wine & beer for your Christmas pantry.

Please note that we are in a remote location so a designated driver or some forward planning will be required.

Due to our remote location, we reserve the right to cancel the event at short notice in the event of poor weather conditions (snow!). In such an event, you will be offered a full refund or alternative date.

We do not have public Wi-Fi on site, and our heating is still being modernised, so please wrap up warm and be prepared to ‘disconnect’ from the outside world whilst here.

FAQs

How have your tours been affected by COVID-9?

Building work was completely halted while we were in lockdown so our building is now very much a work in progress. We hope you will enjoy our event nonetheless and will stoke the fires and welcome you with a smile to try to compensate.

In order to comply with social distancing rules, we have reduced the capacity for our events. We have also set up hand sanitiser stations and encourage customers to wash their hands regularly. As soon as you arrive, you will be assigned to a 'zone' and separate zones will not be able to mingle. Therefore, please let us know at the time of booking if you are attending with a group who have booked separately. Please remember to bring a face covering with you as you are required by law to wear one while moving around our premises.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

We're so sorry but this is a non child friendly event. We operate an over 18's only, but challenge 25 is a policy we operate at all times. Please don't be offended if we ask for ID.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

The Cat and Fiddle has parking but this is limited to approximately 30 cars, so we would encourage car sharing within the advised COVID guidelines. There is disabled car parking available on site; any special requirements please let us know in advance. Additional car parking is available on the layby opposite the pub.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Any questions don't hesitate to email us on team@catfiddleweasel.com or call us on 01298 73711.

What's the refund policy?

Our standard policy is that tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for another date. However, should the event be postponed due to Government guidelines, then we will happily move you to the re-arranged date or offer full refund (minus Eventbrite's booking fees)

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes, that is fine. We just need the attendees full name and contact number for track and trace purposes.

Do you allow dogs and children?

Unfortunately, dogs and children are not permitted to attend the event. Our takeaway bottle shop is open to the general public Wednesday through Sunday every week 10am until 4pm. During this time, we do allow children and (dry) dogs. Please be aware that the shop is takeaway only and card only, the shop is currently closed Monday and Tuesday. We also do not have public toilets while we get our new septic tank fitted.

Where can I go for lunch nearby?

The Stanley Arms is a 5 minute drive away and has an excellent, hearty, English pub style menu. Alternatively, the Peak View tea room is a short drive away.

Can I Buy a Bottle?

Purchases of an extra whisky, or a bottle are available from the bar. Most major credit cards are accepted. And as an attendee to this particular event you will receive an exclusive 10% discount on any forest products that you buy on the day.

Can I smoke on site?

We do not currently have a whisky still on site but we would kindly request, smokers do so in the designated smoking area.

Is the bar open afterwards?

We allow an additional 30 minutes at the end of the event for any further drinks. If we have another event booked, then I'm afraid that we will kick you out with the sheep once they arrive! And in line with current Covid-19 regulations our last orders are at 9.30pm for any evening events so we may close by 10.00pm
