Event Information
About this Event
Get into the festive spirit with our special Christmas Xplorer Trail. Santa, Rudolph and many more, much loved Christmas characters have been spotted in the Moss Bank Park and we need you to help track them all down. Using their map children will find be able to find all our characters before earning themselves a certificate and sticker as well as a warming cup of hot chocolate. So join us for a Christmas outdoor adventure not to be missed!
Our Christmas Xplorer Trail is perfect for families with children 8 years or under. It provides an opportunity to take part in the Christmas festivities safely and to explore the natural beauty of Moss Bank Park through a fun outdoor challenge. Tickets cost just £3.00 per pack.
This activity will take place across Moss Bank Park, with themed markers being located throughout its fantastic open spaces. On average people take around 30-45 minutes to complete the walk but you can always take advantage of the picnic benches or large outdoor play area if your little ones need a break. Some markers are off the path and so depending on the weather, we would recommend wellies although they are not essential.
We ask that you please bring your own pen to note down the answers as you go along and also a face mask (which you will need if you need to use the toilet facilities in the café). Our Café will be open offering hot and cold drinks and snacks to take away basis. Any four legged friends are welcome to join families on their quests.
This event is brought to you in association with the British Orienteering association. All proceeds from the activity go towards the charitable work of the Lancashire Wildlife Trust.

3. The trail is undertaken outdoors and in a self-led capacity.
4. There is no handling of shared resources.
5. The trail is limited to outdoor space only, and is designed to help you make the most of your time outdoors.
6. Numbers are restricted each day, and within each time slot.
7. Social distance of 2 metres can and should be maintained at all times due to the size of the site
8.. Hand sanitisers and toilets will be available at our takeaway [café / restaurant]
REFUND POLICY
Being an outdoor venue our events can be affected by the weather. Our advice is to come as prepared as possible: warm jumpers and raincoats, wellies, hats, gloves and umbrellas as we will always strive to continue our events – whatever-the-weather.
We have altered the way we do our self-lead activities to make sure that they fit within the strictest local and national restrictions, these were last reviewed on the 5/11/2020 when the most recent lockdown came into effect.
If you cannot attend one of our self-lead activities due to health concerns, you can transfer your ticket to any other activity of equal value free of charge, in the event that our future activities are not yet published you will be issued with a voucher that will be valid for 6 months to be redeemed against our future events.
If for any reason our activity has to be postponed due to factors outside of our control such as new government covid guidance or stormy weather/flooding meaning we close our nature reserve then your booking will be exchanged and you can use it to book onto another event of ours later in the year/early next year. In the event that our future activities are not yet published you will be issued with a voucher that will be valid for 6 months to be redeemed against our future events.
If the activity is postponed or exchanged to a later date and you cannot attend we will be able to refund your ticket minus the third-party online booking fee of £1.
