Welcome to Step 12 Studio, your gateway to studying the Chubbuck Technique, made famous by A-list actors like Charlize Theron and Brad Pitt.

The Chubbuck Technique is a 12-step acting technique which is based on behavioral science, psychology, and cultural anthropology. If one is going to recreate true human behavior, one must go to the source of what truly makes people do what they do. Ivana has a profound insight of the human psyche and her technique teaches you how to replicate the character from your own personal needs and life experiences. This creates a character that is vivid, authentic, living and breathing in the moment.

In classes, you will always work on high-stakes scenes with other actors, all under expert guidance. You'll perform in front of the whole class in a supportive environment where everyone is rooting for your success. You'll always be working on material specifically chosen for you, focusing on what you need to work on today in order to work tomorrow!

The L.A. studio system will help you become adept at creating great work, and you'll grow a natural level of confidence that can only come from truly knowing what you're capable of and knowing that you can deliver.

Booking Instructions:

Step 1. Choose and book the date that aligns with the start date for your designated group.

For example, if you want to join May Group 1, pick the ticket for Tuesday 7th May

This ticket ensures your reservation for all sessions throughout the 4-week block.

Step 2. Your reservation will prompt Rich to contact you for your consultation call and issue an invoice for your spot. Places are officially confirmed upon payment or deposit receipt.

Step 3. Your consultation call, after you are registered, Rich will arrange a call with you to discuss your training, career and goals. This ensures the most personalised class for exponential growth. You'll receive your assignment for your first class a week in advance.

How Class Works:

The L.A studio system that Ivana Chubbuck has used for the last forty years to train some of Hollywood's highest-earning A-listers.

Four-Week Blocks: Structured learning with scene study.

Assignments and Preparation

One week before your first class, you'll receive your assignment, which includes a scene or monologue. You're expected to spend at least six hours rehearsing with your scene partner before and between each class.

If you're unable to dedicate 6 hours for rehearsal due to a busy schedule, inform Rich, and you can opt for a monologue instead of a scene. Working on monologues is as valuable for your education as scenes are.

Week 1: The First Works

In the first week, you'll perform the piece as prepared. Receive feedback, instruction, and specific homework to improve your performance. You'll go away and re-rehearse with new insights and exercises for week 2.

Week 2: The Re-Works

During the second week, you'll be instructed on how to elevate your acting skills to the next level. The focus is on refining your work and making it more dynamic.

After week 2 - you will be issued your new assigment for weeks 3 and 4.

Required Reading: "The Power of the Actor" by Ivana Chubbuck is a mandatory reading for all participants.

Class Rescheduling: Step 12 Studio (S12S) reserves the right to reschedule classes in the event of low enrollment. A minimum of 6 actors or 3 scenes is required to conduct a class. If S12S cancels a class, you will have the option to receive a full refund or be placed in an alternative group.
