Event description

Description

Join Chuffed.org for a workshop on Crowdfunding for Social Causes!

Donation-based crowdfunding is a new way of raising funds and allows you to source money for a project by asking a large number of contributors to donate a small amount, and asking a small number of contributors to donate a large amount. In return, backers may receive token rewards that increase in prestige as the size of the donation increases.

The Workshop

Chuffed.org is one of the leading (free) global crowdfunding platforms for social causes. During this Workshop, Chuffed.org Community Leader Yass will give you an introduction into crowdfunding and show you how to:

  • Find your crowd (figure out who is going to support your project and why)
  • Tell a specific, inspiring story that your supporters care about
  • Set an achievable target and blow it out of the park
  • Create a marketing and promotion plan for your campaign

About the Speaker

Yassaman Nouri

Chuffed.org Community Leader Yassaman is a recipient of Queen Elizabeth’s Queen Jubilee medal for contributions that positively impacted communities domestically and internationally. Originally from Iran, Yassaman grew up in Vancouver and has worked in Iran, UK, China, Malawi, Tajikistan and Canada in diverse sectors including post-secondary education, international trade, international development, social entrepreneurship, credit unions, nonprofits and government organizations. Yass has had the privilege to contribute to organizations of all sizes from one-person-startups to large global firms on all types of projects from strategy development to implementation and operation and has now returned full-time to the social impact sector. Yassaman is constantly looking for opportunities to use her skills and experiences to make positive systemic changes that deliver positive economic, social, and environmental impacts.

During this workshop, Yass will be sharing both her own experiences crowdfunding as well as learnings from over 5000 social cause projects on Chuffed.org.

Fees
