About this event

This class is perfect for anyone who has recently learned to crochet. Boost your skills and learn how to work with beautiful colour changing chunky yarn. It works up so quickly that you should have most of your hat made during the class. Learn how to read patterns, how to make textural combination stitches, stretchy crochet rib and decreases for shaping your hat!

We'll be using the fabulous Hana Beanie Pattern by Justine Walley from Alyse Crochet. Choose your yarn colour from a selection in store and pick a faux fur bobble from our huge selection to top off your creation!

  • You will need to bring a 8mm crochet hook. This should ideally be a regular hook, with no handle.

  • This is an improver level crochet class. It is suitable for anyone who can already crochet UK double OR treble crochet stitches with an even tension.

This class is supported by a closed Facebook group, which offers online after-class support, where you can post your progress or seek advice as your project continues.

Light refreshments are included.

Organised by

Born and raised in Ireland, Fiona has been crocheting for most of her life. She gained her love of all things crafty from her multi-talented mother and her grandmother, who owned her own craft shop. After learning the basics, she taught herself to read patterns and hasn't looked back! She loves working with new yarns and trying out new crochet techniques. She enjoys teaching as much as she enjoys crocheting itself, and has set up Fiona Meade Crochet to turn her hobby into a small business.
