Event description

Description

How does new legislation affect your church’s charity status? As Christians, how can we wholeheartedly serve our causes, whilst navigating through challenging legal changes?

Recent government regulations are strongly affecting charities and churches. It’s important we understand charity law, respond effectively to the changes, but also ensure we don’t lose sight of our Kingdom mandate.

We’re looking forward to welcoming our special guest speaker, Paul Martin to help us tackle these issues at our special evening event. Paul will offer practical advice to church members and leaders as we explore this challenging topic together.

About our guest speaker: Paul Martin

Paul has been a lawyer for over 40 years and has been a partner with Wellers Law Group since 1983. Based in London, Paul supports charity and not-for-profit organisations in the UK and overseas. He has served as a trustee of several local and international charities and has travelled worldwide to consult on charity projects. Paul recently authored Faith, Hope and Charity – The A to Z of Governing Charitable Organisations, a must-have for every church and charity. Copies will be available to purchase at the event for £12; a saving of £5.

This book is a one-stop-shop which answers the key questions you may have regarding running the legal and financial elements of your church or ministry. It will be essential reading for those who want to do more than just pray that they are doing the right thing.”
- Steve Clifford, General Director, Evangelical Alliance UK

Light refreshments available from 6.45pm; event to begin at 7.30pm.

Run in partnership with Baylink, LEAF and Wessex Filling Station.
