Description

This Autumn we are joined by Karen Arthur; a Fashion Designer with a difference! The founder of women's bespoke clothing brand, ReddskinUK has a thought-provoking perspective on fashion, specifically as it relates to women from the African diaspora. Her questions, though simple and seemingly superficial, force you to become introspective, pondering not only on your own fashion choices but the very rationale for the same, and their potential impact on your general wellbeing.

Can your clothing choices help elevate your mental wellbeing, and if so how?

Does fashion have the power to enhance your mood and your outlook?

Statistics tell us that women of colour are far more likely to be diagnosed with mental illness than their white counterparts, yet access to treatment doesn’t match this worrying trend. Current research doesn’t allow for female voices from the African Diaspora to be heard. Can “fashion therapy” be utilized in some way?

Can you really WEAR YOUR HAPPY? Karen will use her own well-being experience and her style know how to guide you through some ideas on how to do just that.

Please note that the tickets are £3 whether bought online or paid for on the door. Thank you.
