CIB W099 & TG59 International Web-Conference 2020
Event Information
About this event
You are invited to attend the Joint CIB W099 and TG59 International Safety, Health, and People in Construction Conference – this year to be held as a free one-day webinar – on 10th September 2020. The theme of the conference to be hosted by Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) focuses on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 3 and 8: ‘Good Health and Wellbeing’, and ‘Decent Work and Economic Growth’ in Construction.
The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership to recognise, address and ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all workers whilst construction projects are geared toward promoting sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full productive employment and decent work for all. The conference themes encourage academics and the industry towards addressing the dynamics of the construction sector across the several W099 and TG59 sub-themes.
The full day webinar will include key-note speeches on construction safety, health, wellbeing and other ‘people’ issues. Despite the impact of COVID19 lockdowns across the globe, the scaled down web event includes over 30 papers which will be published in official proceedings. Authors of each paper have been invited to upload a 10-minute presentation for viewing either before or between sessions. Videos will be uploaded during the week prior to the conference. This will allow each themed session to be dedicated to Q&A and in-depth discussion. Authors of the best papers will also be invited to contribute to the webinar with their own keynotes.
A link to this webinar will be forwarded to all registrants closer to the event.
Note: This replaces the planned full conference originally scheduled to take place 9-12 September 2020 in Glasgow. A full ‘face to face’ conference will take place same time next year.
