About this event
The theme of the conference to be hosted by Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) focuses on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal Number 9 on how ‘Changes and Innovations’ can impact on Goals 3 and 8: ‘Good Health and Wellbeing’, and ‘Decent Work and Economic Growth’ in Construction.
The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership to recognise, address and ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all workers whilst construction projects are geared toward promoting sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full productive employment and decent work for all. The conference themes encourage academics and the industry towards addressing the dynamics of the construction sector across the several W099 and W123 sub-themes.
The two-day web-conference will include key-note speeches on construction safety, health, wellbeing and other ‘people’ issues. Despite the impact of COVID19 lockdowns across the globe, the web event includes over 30 papers which will be published in official proceedings. Authors of each paper will be invited to upload a 10-minute presentation for viewing the week prior to the conference. This will allow each themed session to dedicate more time to Q&A and in-depth discussion.
