Ian has worked in the ventilation industry since 1984, when he joined a Birmingham-based market leader as a technical apprentice. Before joining Soler & Palau (S&P) as technical manager in August 2010, Ian had held similar positions in a number of ventilation companies.

Over the course of his career, Ian has been responsible for the introduction of new products to the UK market, as well as providing advice on product selection, operation, installation and maintenance against customers’ requirements and in accordance with relevant regulations/standards.

In addition to being a HEVAC trade association committee member, Ian co-authored the Fan Manufacturers Association/CIBSE 2006 update of the Fan Application Guide together with other industry experts.
