About this event
- Event lasts 1 hour
Snowplanet in Silverdale is NZ’s only indoor snow park, making real snow daily for skiing and snowboarding on a 200m slope!
Go behind the scenes of New Zealand’s only indoor ski centre with Snowplanet’s Maintenance Manager, Dave Simpson. Discover how 50,000 cubic meters of real (manmade) snow are produced daily and learn about the complex engineering systems—covering energy management, electrical, hydraulics, mechanical, and safety—that keep the 200-meter snow slope running all year.
This technical talk offers insights into climate control, facility management, and the engineering challenges of creating and maintaining a world-class snow dome in Silverdale. A must-attend for anyone interested in environmental and facilities engineering!
