Chaired by Rt .Hon. Nick Raynsford, the October session of the Economic and Policy Briefing will feature:

  • Economic summary from Michael Dall, Lead Economist at Barbour ABI
  • Hugh Ellis, Head of Policy, Town and Country Planning on the Raynsford Review: Planning 2020
  • Chris Savage, Nuclear Industry Association with an update on Hinkley Point and nuclear construction projects

Agenda

CIC Economic and Policy Briefings provide regular economic and policy updates as well as comments on major commercial projects in construction industry. The briefings bring together leading policy-makers, economists and senior industry players to discuss the key topics in an informal setting.

The Briefings run six times a year, typically on Tuesdays, from 9.30am – 12.30pm with three speakers, Q&A sessions and two neworking coffee breaks.

In 2018 all sessions will be held at the Institution of Civil Engineers, One Great George Street, Westminster.

Past speakers have included, Gavin Barwell, Minister for Housing at the time, David Orr - former Chair of the National Housing Federation, David Lunts, Executive Director of Housing and Land at GLA, Dr David Hancock - Director at the Cabinet Office, Jim O'Sullivan, Chief Executive at Highways England, John Cridland CBE, Chairman of the Transport for the North, Andrew Wolstenholme OBE, Chief Executive of Crossrail and Construction Industry Leadership, Paul Morrell OBE, Phil Wilbraham, BAA, Director of the Heathrow Expansion, Bridget Rosewell OBE from National Infrastructure Committee, Prof. Noble Francis of CPA, Peter Andrews from the Bank of England as well as analysts from Experian, Glenigans and Arcadis.
