The Level 2 Award in Fire Safety Principles allows candidates to develop their basic fire awareness. It is particularly useful for employees who are to have a designated responsibility for workplace fire safety, for example as fire wardens or marshals. It provides the knowledge that will allow them to carry out duties and implement emergency procedures.
Who needs This Qualification?
Employees who hope to develop their basic fire safety awareness in order to undertake more specific roles in the workplace to manage risk (e.g. as fire wardens/marshals/stewards etc.).

- Characteristics of fire and smoke spread
- Control methods
- Means of escape
- Fire detection and raising the alarm
- Extinguishing fires
- Fixed fire-fighting systems
- Legal duties and penalties (including the FSO)
- Fire risk assessment
- Fire safety inspections
- Role of the fire warden
- Induction briefings

None, although basic fire safety awareness to Level 1 standard is recommended.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
On the day of training you must bring photographic proof of identity (passport, driving licences etc). Please be aware that the awarding body stipulates that you will not be allowed to sit the exam without this.
