What are the entry requirements?
There are no entry requirements although it is recommended that candidates are either already working within the catering industry, or planning to shortly following the course so as to maintain their knowledge.
What are the learning outcomes?
The qualification covers the following topics:
• Food safety hazards
• Temperature control
• Refrigeration, chilling and cold holding
• Cooking, hot holding and reheating
• Food handling
• Principles of safe food storage
• Food premises and equipment
How will I be assessed?
The course is 6 hours of training, followed by a 30 question multiple choice paper (1 hour) which is marked by the awarding body CIEH.
On completion of the course, all delegates will receive a CIEH certificate which is valid for 3 years
