The CIEH Level 3 Award in Training – Principles and practice course is a short, introductory, knowledge-based training qualification and has no minimum practice requirement – except to engage in a short microteaching session – so may be undertaken by individuals who are not in a training role or who have just started a training role.
How are candidates assessed:
The CIEH Level 3 Award in Training – Principles and practice assessment is divided into two parts:
1. a 1,000 word outline of the candidate’s subject specialism
2. a microteaching session (including peer assessment).
The practical assessed 'micro-teach' session involves:
•Producing a plan for, and delivering, a 20-25 minute training session
•Completion of a self-evaluation to review the effectiveness of the session, and peer evaluations.
•The assessment includes discussion and feedback.
