CIF Exec Group: vendor and customer impact of GDPR (invitation only)
Thu 30 March 2017, 16:00 – 18:00 BST
In May 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will become law in the UK. Most businesses have either never heard of it or are unprepared. The implications of GDPR should not be underestimated, companies can be fined up to 4% of global turnover or €20m – this has nothing to do with Brexit! Under GDPR, TalkTalk’s £400,000 data breach fine from the Information Commissioner’s Office over last October’s could have been as much as £70m.
We will be hosting our next CIF Exec meeting on Thursday 30th March from 4-6pm at Microsoft’s Paddington offices (2 Kingdom Street). The topic for this CIF Exec session will be GDPR and its impact on cloud providers and customers.
We have two leading sources of GDPR knowledge who will be attending and presenting but as ever this is intended as a discussion so all round participation is welcome.
