Description

Most major car manufacturers have announced plans to produce driverless cars alongside the likes of Google and Apple – what will be the impact on the Channel Islands of driverless technology? This presentation will examine the economic and social impacts of driverless cars and the policies that governments will need to consider.


John Siraut is divisional director of Economics at Jacobs in London. His interest is in understanding the wider economic and social impacts of transport policy and infrastructure. He has worked on major infrastructure projects such as High Speed 2 and Crossrail to examining the economic impact of clean air zones and parking policies to determining the factors that influence people’s mental geographies and willingness to travel. He is a frequent speaker at conferences in the UK and overseas.
