CIGRE-UK NGN: Hunterston B Power Station Visit
Wed 28 June 2017, 09:45 – 16:00 BST
A CIGRE-UK Next Generation Network Event: Hunterston B nuclear power station on the west coast of Scotland.
Hunterston B is a nuclear power station on the west coast of Scotland, and it is capable of supplying electricity to approximately 1.7 million UK homes. The event provides a great opportunity to visit the plant, which is one of only two nuclear power stations in Scotland. The tour will be guided by experts running the plant, covering all aspects of the site operation and maintenance. The event also includes technical presentations from experts addressing emerging power system challenges and potential solutions.
Please note, all attendees require clearance by the Office of the Nuclear Regulator (ONR) for this visit. Therefore,
passport details will be required on registration and all attendees should bring the passports along on the day of the event. If you are interested in attending the tour, it is highly recommended to register as soon as possible: spaces are limited and clearance from ONR needs to be issued beforehand.
In order to prepare Personal Protection Equipment in advance, we will also require some details such as height and shoe size on registration.
Pick up (by coach) will be at 09:45 from either Glasgow Central Station / George Square (TBC). We will return by 16:00.
