CIL 2 - CERTIFICATE IN ISLAMIC LEARNING - 2019

Proudly Presented by Wycombe Islamic Mission & Mosque Trust (WIMMT)

6th Year Running in High Wycombe

The CIL 2 course is a smooth follow on from the CIL 1 course. It provides a gentle transition from the CIL 1 foundation course, whilst building and consolidating material covered by the students.

The CIL 2 course consists of core modules that will help towards establishing a lasting connection with the Creator and His beloved Messenger Muhammad . Students will be introduced to core ideas from the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah, that will help them live a balanced life based on ageless principles that protect their faith from arbitrary and extremist distortions, whilst allowing the religious tradition the capacity of facing up to the challenges and demands of modern life.

MODULE TITLES

1. 40 Hadith of Imam Nawawi [Hadith]
2. Fiqh of Worship (Ibadaat)
3. The Blessed Sirah ﷺ

MODULE OVERVIEW

40 Hadith of Imam Nawawi

The Al-Arbaeen An-Nawawi (40 hadith of Imam Nawawi), an unparalleled compilation of prophetic sayings by one of the most widely accepted scholars in the history of Islam. This is an excellent opportunity to study and reflect over a timeless collection of Prophetic sayings containing the essentials of faith, worship and spirituality.

These comprehensive prophetic sayings contain key principles of our religion–showing how to turn to Allah, and uphold excellence, beauty, virtue, and mercy that is the essence of the teachings of the Prophet .

Fiqh of Worship (Ibadaat)

In this course students will study the Hanafi Fiqh of Purity & Worship at an intermediate level. We will use a modern textbook compiled from the traditional primers like Mukhtasar al-Quduri & Al-Ikhtiyar. Students will undergo a detailed study of the subject, building on the CIL 1 Fiqh module. The module will cover the Fiqh of Purity, Prayer, Zakat, Fasting, and the Pilgrimage.

The Blessed Sirah ﷺ

This subject covers the blessed life and times of the Noble Messenger in more detail and building on the Sirah Module from CIL 1.
The course will be based upon
Martin Lings, Muhammed, work with a detailed commentary using innovative teaching methods and resources with a detailed commentary from the instructor.

The Students will learn in much greater depth about the life and times of the Noble Messenger Muhammad , an understanding of the Arab world prior to the coming of the Holy Prophet and about the life of the Holy Prophet from birth until his return to his Lord.

Students will develop a deep admiration and appreciation of one of History’s most influential figures. This will include a greater realisation of the sacrifices The Holy Prophet and his companions made. Students will be able to nurture their esteem for the Holy Prophet’s personage and traits and develop a deep awareness of the importance of virtue, against which a human being is measured.
