CILT Rail Freight Forum are delighted to visit the Thorney Mill Rail Sidings operated by Ashville at West Drayton, London. We are grateful to Daniel Ashville Louisy, and to Jess Lippett of Network Rail for their help and support.
This event is an opportunity to hear first-hand from Daniel Ashville, a pioneering rail freight operator and renowned TV Presenter.
The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport congratulates Daniel on his impressive achievements which we are pleased to celebrate in 2025, the year of Railway 200. We are marking 200 years since the opening of the Stockton & Darlington Railway in September 1825. CILT UK appreciates the involvement of Ashville Aggregates in celebrating this milestone and exploring rail's past, present and future role in national life. Our visit reinforces 3 of the 4 themes of Railway 200, namely innovation, technology and the environment, education and skills, and celebrating railway people.
Please note that this is an “on the ground” visit to a working outdoor rail terminal with constant road traffic.
