This is a joint session which will initially run through a detailed guide to reading and understanding the printout from an HGV roller brake tester and the importance of being able to analyse the results and not just assume it is ok because it lists a “PASS” mark at the bottom.

The session will also cover the topic of laden brake testing in line with recent recommendations in the Guide to Roadworthiness.


Then we will be exploring all aspects of speed and your 'O' Licence obligations and other legal consequences:

1. How society has driven the need for speed

2. Examples of poor speed management

3. How to management speeding infringements and data to protect your operation and the potential consequences of not doing so.

4. Do you and your drivers really understand speed?

5. Setting proactive initiatives to enhance performance and CSR

6. Looking to the future: Interaction with autonomous vehicles
