The Depot Grant Scheme offers a valuable opportunity to cover up to 75% of the cost of installing new EV charging infrastructure.
This support plays a crucial role in rebalancing the total cost of ownership (TCO) when evaluating battery electric trucks and charging infrastructure as a combined investment.
Key discussion points:
• Timing - urgency to apply for the grant by 28 November 25. If a Battery Integrated Charger solution isn't a preferred option and a grid application is required for installed chargers there a risk the install won't be completed by 31 March 26 and receive grant payout in accordance with the grant terms.
• Eligibility - some will miss out or the grant won't favour them, for example, a third-party logistics transport provider mostly using customer depots can't apply for funding at customer drop off and pick up locations to enable BEV routes from their depot.
• Opportunities - What are the opportunities available to transporters considering BEVs charging infrastructure via the scheme.
• Application process - Describing the process and information required. The two-stage application will be considered on a first come first serve basis and until the funding allocation is used up.
The application portal will be closed early if all the grant funding is applied for.
• Erinion would like to be helpful and support transporters think about charging infrastructure in the industry transformation to battery electric freight systems.
