Re3 hold regular Open Days, offering a unique visitor experience allowing interested parties or groups to see for themselves what happens in the re3 Materials Recycling Facility (MRF). These visits include a tour of the MRF where you can see the trommels, air knives, optical sorters and other sorting methods in action.
The visit will comprise of an introduction in the Education room, including Health & Safety and housekeeping, followed by a presentation explaining how the facility operates. This is followed by the tour.
The presentation and tour will take approximately 1½ hours.
We can offer site tours of up to 15 people for individuals or groups. Spaces on all tours are limited and available strictly by pre-booking only. Please note there is a minimum age of 18 years for all tours.
Health and Safety
The tour of the MRF includes narrow walkways, often consisting on metal grating, including at some height and many flights of stairs. If any members of the tour have any health or mobility issues that may potentially affect their visit to the facility, it is extremely important that this information is passed on to us before the visit. These include (but are not limited to):
Fear of heights
Pacemakers
Heart conditions
Lack of mobility
Breathing difficulties
What do I wear?
It is essential that everyone is wearing long trousers (no skirts or shorts) and long sleeves. For your tour, you will be asked to wear steel toe capped boots, hard hat, hi-viz vest, safety glasses and gloves. Please provide shoe and clothing sizes prior to your visit. Anyone unwilling to wear these items will not be permitted onto site.
As usual with Thames Valley Group events, afterwards attendees are warmly invited to continue the evening with informal discussion and networking at the pub opposite the venue.
