This event has been designed exclusively for Cinnamon Recognised Projects, in direct response to feedback on your areas of greatest need. The agenda will include:
- Building a great Governance team.
- Trustee duties.
- Managing conflicts of interest.
- Relationships between the board and senior managers.
- Evaluating board performance and building a stronger board.
Our speakers for the afternoon will be:
Tesse Akpeki, a senior consultant at BWB’s Onboard programme, who specialises in governance development and leadership. She also specialises in relationship management for leaders, trustee boards and change management programmes. Tesse has been acknowledged internationally as an expert in behavioural leadership for nonprofits; and
Laurence Singlehurst, who has worked for over thirty years in charitable contexts as a CEO reporting to a board of directors, and as a director and chairman of a number of charities. Through these experiences he has gained experience of what a board should look and what sort of people you should have on a board so that your charity can grow and expand without difficulties.
Following feedback from our successful Fundraising Seminar we are planning even more time to explore your specific questions. Other than that the seminar format will be very similar to before: an informal seminar starting with a buffet lunch.
When & Where
Cinnamon Network began emerging in 2010 in response to growing social need, public sector reform, increasing recognition of the role of voluntary organisations and the economic cuts. 50 Christian CEOs and leaders were challenged to consider how the Christian community could deliver more local transformation at national scale and to do so at speed. We met together at The Cinnamon Club in London and Cinnamon Network was born.
Our aim is to serve the nation by enabling people and resources to transform their communities and help those in social need. We do this by championing brilliant church-based social action, by building partnerships between churches and civic groups, and by delivering actionable research to enable growth.
