Find out about the updated Environmental Growth Strategy for Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly and the opportunities for business growth
About this event
There is not just a climate emergency; but an ecological emergency too. And the evidence is clear that we must increase the speed with which we are bringing back nature in our land and seas if we are to prevent ecological breakdown.
Join us to hear about the updated Environmental Growth Strategy and to understand how businesses across Cornwall should be using the Strategy to lead the change needed. Speakers include; Lord Robin Teverson (Chair CIoS Local Nature Partnership), Kim Conchie (Chief Exec, Cornwall Chamber of Commerce) and Catherine Pinney (Tevi & Cornwall Wildlife Trust).
Co-produced by our Local Nature Partnership and the councils of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, the Strategy provides a long-term framework for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to not just conserve, but to grow nature, ensuring that there is more of it, and that it is bigger, better, more diverse and more joined up. The key principle within the Strategy is that we are all interconnected with nature. The updated Strategy retains the vision and core ambitions of the original 2015 version, and sharpens our focus with 10 pillars for action to help nature regenerate and to provide the natural foundations for a green recovery. It outlines steps to achieve the target that 30% of our land and seas are positively managed for nature by 2030.
