HR Good Practice Group

Avoiding and resolving grievances

In response to feedback from fellow CIPD members we run a monthly ‘HR Good Practice Group’ which will be run by CIPD members and is for anyone interested in chatting to other HR people, whether they are in a standalone HR role, have HR as part of a wider role, or work in a team. 

We want to welcome everyone and create a friendly, supportive group.

AIMS: Discuss/work through your HR issues/cases (confidentially) with other HR practitioners:

• Draw on collective views, knowledge and experiences from the group
• Opportunity to network with other HR practitioners
• Take away ideas that you can apply specifically in your role.

Each month there will be a theme. The session will start with a short discussion about what we mean by best practice and an update on any recent changes or developments in thinking. There will then be an opportunity to discuss, confidentially attendees specific cases. 

At the end of the session there will be time to raise any general issues that people would like to be able to seek other viewpoints about. 

Note: These sessions provide an opportunity for discussion in a confidential space. However, attendees should always be mindful of the amount of information they share to avoid any potential breach of confidentiality therefore cases will be considered in general terms.

Tea and coffee can be purchased at the venue.

Professional photography and video production may be taking place at the event, and these images may be used on future promotional materials for CIPD. Please note that by attending the event, you are giving your consent for your image to be used on any CIPD promotional materials.

FAQs

Is there parking at the venue?

There is a small car park with about five parking spaces at the side of Maison Sax. There is also free parking for 2 hours on Britannia Road and nearby roads from 08:00hrs.  Alternatively, there is a pay and display car park in Curzon Road, Ashley Cross BH14 8BE which costs £1.50 for two hours.

What refreshments will be on offer?

Tea and coffee can be purchased at the venue.

What is the refund policy for paid tickets?

We operate a 7-day cut-off date for ticket cancellations leading to a refund.

How do you use the personal information I provide when registering?

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) is a data controller, registered with the Information Commissions Office as required under GDPR.  The CIPD is committed to protecting your privacy and will not share your personal information with third parties without your permission.  However, when entering in an event that is advertised on the Eventbrite website you will be consenting to your information being passed to the Event Organiser for them to use for the purposes of organising and running the event.  CIPD may also wish to process your personal information in connection with a variety of activities which may include the marketing and promotion of our services and the administration of files and records.  CIPD will only process your data in accordance with current data protection legislation.  The Event Organiser undertakes not to share that information with third parties.
