People are what will make or break the business. Whether focusing on HR only or covering more hybrid roles, HR professionals in smaller organisations have specific challenges to face. Supporting a growing business with changing needs, creating a strong external HR support network, and being able to recruit and retain the best talent is all vital to drive long-term performance and succeed in our profession.

But how do we identify what our business needs and provide the right level of support? How do we compete with larger organisations to attract and retain the best talent? And how do we create an external network that can support when needed?

This conference has been designed in collaboration with HR professionals working in smaller businesses – to provide you with practical guidance on how to effectively support your people, and respond to the changing needs of growing organisations. You will hear from experts and practitioners who have mapped out HR needs and devised new ways to attract and retain people. There will be facilitated networking for you to connect with your peers, discuss your own issues, and take practical solutions back to work.

Practical takeaways will include:
● an understanding of different stages of SME growth and what HR support is needed at each stage
● ideas on how to attract and select talent that will help your organisation succeed
● ways to enhance your middle managers’ and leaders’ capabilities
● strategies to increase engagement, wellbeing and retain your talent
● opportunity to discuss your own issues with other SME professionals
