Event description

Description

The government’s white paper on a future post-Brexit immigration policy looks set to have a dramatic impact on employers, especially low-skilled ones, if they are implemented. What would the impact of a 30k minimum salary threshold be on your organisation? How can government mitigate the cost and administrative burden of a future post-Brexit immigration policy? And how are you going to respond if you are unable to recruit non-UK nationals in the same numbers as before? And how have you been responding to the fall in EU net migration since the Leave vote so far?

These are just some of the questions the CIPD would like to get your feedback on to help inform our response to the current consultation paper on the UK’s future immigration policy for both EU and non-EU citizens. The session will also seek to share ideas and best practice to help you develop a response to the ending of free movement of labour for EU citizens in the UK from January 2021.

The event will include a presentation by Ian Robinson, a partner at the worlds biggest law firm Fragomen which will cover an overview of the government’s current Brexit immigration policy. The session will be run by CIPD Public Policy Adviser Gerwyn Davies who will be also be joined by Heather Rolfe of the National Institute of Economic and Social Research.

This round table discussion session is aimed at senior HR professionals in HR Manager roles or above.
