CIPR North East AGM
Event Information
About this event
It’s that time of year again where we’re calling for people to put themselves forwards, volunteer their time, and join our team! That’s right – we’re now calling for nominations for CIPR North East members to stand for election to the committee at our next AGM.
The CIPR North East AGM will take place online via Zoom on Wednesday 3 November from 5.30pm.
As well as updating you on CIPR North East activity, answering any questions you may have, and hearing from Rachel Roberts, CIPR President-Elect about her presidential year, during the course of the evening, we’ll also be holding elections for the following positions:
- Chair
- Vice Chair
- Secretary
- Budget Manager
- Full voting committee members x 8
If people stand for election without contest, they can be accepted onto the committee by a collective vote. Should there be more people wishing to join the team than there are positions available, there will be a vote held during the AGM using the Zoom poll functionality.
Our current committee’s term ends on 31st December 2021 with the new team taking over the reins on 1st January 2021. All of our meetings are held virtually at the moment, so it’s expected that the new elected team join our monthly virtual meetings after being successfully appointed at the AGM, to help assist with the handover process.
Want to stand for nomination?
Wondering if you’re eligible to join the team? All members of CIPR North East can stand for election on to the committee. Only full CIPR members (MCIPR, FCIPR, Honorary Fellows) can hold the position of Chair and Budget Manager. To stand for election at the AGM, you must have two separate nominations from current CIPR North East group members – this doesn’t mean current committee members, just CIPR members who also belong to the North East group.
To obtain a nomination form, please email our current Secretary Melanie Armstrong, and she will send you the documentation you need.
You can reach her via CIPRNE@GMAIL.COM
Finally, you must ensure that your two completed nomination forms are returned to Melanie by 5pm on Monday 25th October 2021.
Want to find out more?
We do hope you’ll be interested in joining the team – it’s a very worthwhile experience both personally and professionally! If you’re keen to know more and find out about the different roles, what it’s like to be a volunteer or to get an idea of what will be required of you as a CIPR committee member, please contact one of our current committee members and we'll be happt to chat to you.
Lastly, please remember that attendance at the AGM is strictly for CIPR members only. Please pre-register your attendance and the Zoom dial-in details will be sent to you ahead of the event.
Thank you and we’re looking forward to seeing you there!
