About this event

We are offering a Circle of Hope. To join together and witness our own individual responses to the present day unfolding within the container of a created courageous community.

There are many overwhelming things happening in our world right now. Living through collective trauma experiences, leaves wounds and scars that are often unspoken and silenced. And those wounds and scars are inherited by the next generations.

The temptation to numb out, turn away, not engage is huge. However the numbness has a cost too, we can’t be selective with the numbness, it seeps into all of the places of hope and joy too. It becomes a false safety and it also becomes a legacy for the next generations. We can break the pattern, we can make a different choice.

Being present in your body, feeling how you feel, the overwhelm, the worry, the rage, the hope, all of that takes courage and it matters a great deal.

When we can each feel and witness ourselves as individuals within our shared collective experience then we are ensuring that the next generations do not have to do that work for us.

We are also disentangling some of the memories from our ancestors that are running through our present day responses.

What do you need to do?

This is a monthly free online space to gather, witness and actively tend places of grief and story within a supported and safe community circle as we give place to voices from the ancestors, the descendants, and the next generations. Choosing to spend time in the circle of hope to honour what is moving through individually and collectively so that the next generations do not have to do that for us.

The circle of hope will last 60-90min.

What will happen?

Gathering in circle with each individual stepping in from their own place and personal beliefs, support, and safety through an initial grounding exercise. We will gather each month around a different theme. There will be space to share what we are each finding hard to sit with in our present in the zoom chat box. We will then step into a guided meditation to connect with our own memories and hopes, the connection with the ancestors as well as the future generations. There will be space to journal and witness the unfolding as well as time for connection and conversation in breakout rooms. Poetry, nature, beauty and music will be interweaving throughout our circle of hope. All are welcome.
