Circular Economy for Scotland's Communities: FREE online workshop

Who is this workshop for?

This new FREE online workshop is for people in Scotland, wanting an introduction to the relationship between consumption (the things we buy and use) and climate change.

The workshop will also introduce positive actions you can take to reduce consumption and help Scotland move towards a more Circular Economy.

We developed the workshop in partnership with Circular Communities Scotland, and it is funded by The National Lottery Climate Action Fund as part of the legacy of the Highland Community Waste Partnership.

The workshop also introduces case studies from local community-led projects to highlight local action and inspire positive change in your own community.

Please note: You must be aged 18+ and live in Scotland to be eligible to attend this workshop.

What type of certification will workshop participants receive?

Workshop participants will receive a certificate of attendance from us.

How long will the workshop take?

This workshop is 2.5 hours of learning in total.

What online platform will host the workshop?

This workshop will take place online via Zoom.

How is this Circular Economy Workshop funded?

Thanks to National Lottery players, The Highland Community Waste Partnership project, led by Keep Scotland Beautiful, has brought together experienced grassroots community groups across the Scottish Highlands to reduce consumption and waste. The project has received almost £1.5 m from The National Lottery Community Fund. This grant comes from the Climate Action Fund, a £100 million commitment over 10 years from The National Lottery Community Fund to support communities across the UK to take action on climate change and involve more people in climate action.

This Circular Economy Introductory Workshop has been funded by The National Lottery Climate Action Fund as part of the legacy of the Highland Community Waste Partnership.

We (Keep Scotland Beautiful) will hold the information you have given us via Eventbrite in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018.

We will use the information you provide to process your registration for the workshop, send you communications about the workshop, including relevant follow-up information and for monitoring and reporting. We will use anonymised data for purposes including marketing and promotion.

If your attendance at the workshop has been organised by an organisation or company, we may share relevant information with them.

The workshop is funded by The National Lottery Climate Action Fund as part of the legacy of the Highland Community Waste Partnership (HCWP), and we may share anonymous information with The National Lottery Climate Action Fund as they have a legitimate interest in the training. This information may include the number of registrants that:

• Have registered to attend the workshop

• Have engaged previously with the HCWP

• Live, work or volunteer in the Highlands (or have links to the area)
• Live, work or volunteer in Scotland (or have links to Scotland)

We will not record the workshop in full, however, we may take short video clips and images for use in marketing and promotion of the training. Your face and speech may be recorded if you switch on your webcam/microphone, and the username you choose when joining the workshop may also be recorded. Your contributions to workshop discussion sessions via text chat may also feature in the recording. We may use the video clips and recordings for future promotion of our activities. This includes, without limitation the right to use the recordings in publicity materials, newsletters, newspapers, magazine articles, exhibitions, films, television and online (web and social media). The recordings may be made available for others to share, including partners and the press. We will give you notice at the workshop before we take videos or images, so you can choose whether you want to be involved in them. We cannot withdraw images / recordings already published, but media consent for future use can be changed or withdrawn at any time by notifying us.
