Description

There will be two main aims of the workshop:

1. To develop a coordinated networked research and industry group across Wales to develop and provide circular economy solutions to the nutrient waste recycling using algae with generation of feed products for the aquaculture industry.

2. To develop a keynote position paper to evaluate and model a novel circular economy and sustainable solution using microalgae to take up the waste nutrients from AD and to generate feed products.

The one day w/shop will be split into the morning session focussing on Aim 1 where invited guests will give presentation focussed on the addressing the opportunities and challenges associated with the following themes:

The AD Industry

  • Tackling agricultural nutrient pollution
  • Developing algae technology to remove waste nutrients
  • Developing products from algae focussed on the aquaculture feed industry.

The afternoon will be focussed on Aim 2 drafting a keynote position paper
