Circular Transition in Building Materials - Part 2

Welcome to the first part of our exciting 2-part webinar series focused on The circular transition in building materials!

Part 1 will focus on Tools for Sustainable Resource Management Policy.

Part 2 will focus on Evidence for Sustainable Resource Management Policy.

For both sessions, we have an exciting line-up of speakers with expertise in circular economy, construction, policy, materials and sustainable resource management frameworks.

About Us

Building on the work of the Interdisciplinary Circular Economy Centre for Mineral-based Construction Materials (ICEC-MCM), UCL continues to contribute to research on circular economy through the UN backed ICE-SRM/CE, a pioneering initiative that will deliver resource efficient and circular economy solutions for the UK, Europe and world. The centre develops sustainable solutions to waste management and wider resource use by leveraging cutting-edge research, international collaboration, and innovative partnerships, to pave the way to a more sustainable and circular future.

The work we do includes, but is not limited to, improving the understanding of material flows, assessing environmental impacts through life cycle assessment, examining the broader social and economic implications of shifting towards more circular use of materials and demonstrating how technical research can inform policy and regulation. The ICE-SRM centre contributes to the continuous development of the United Nations Resource Management System (UNRMS) and United Nations Framework Classification (UNFC) through testing, case studies and innovative applications. We engage with global stakeholders through knowledge exchange, training, educational materials, workshops and online resources to spread best practices and support the adoption of the UNRMS and UNFC.
