About this event

Reducing waste and improving whole-life carbon performance are both ecological and economic imperatives. How can we retain more value in surplus and “end-of-first-life” timber? This webinar will showcase construction approaches that integrate reclaimed and reused timber – from deconstruction strategies to re-manufacture and site logistics – and explore how circular practices can create both cost savings and carbon reductions.

Who should attend?

Developers, contractors, architects and engineers interested in decarbonising the built environment through circular uses of timber.

Why attend?

  • Learn how design and procurement can enable timber reuse.
  • Gain insights into construction practices that reduce waste and emissions.
  • Explore business benefits of circular timber models.
  • Share your own experience with circular practices in building design and construction.

Speakers include:

About the event cycle

At the cross-section of increasing supply chain volatility, global demand growth and the urgent need to cut carbon emissions, this event cycle focuses on barriers and opportunities for:

  • UK wood product manufacturers to integrate reclaimed timber and fibre into their designs and processes.
  • Clients, specifiers and contractors to embrace these products in procurement and construction.

Through three webinars and one roundtable, participants will gain insights from practice examples, shape problem and opportunity statements, identify policy needs, and define practical actions.

The cycle is a collaboration between Woodknowledge Wales, Built by Nature and ASBP. It is part-funded by Welsh Government through the Home-Grown Homes Project and aligned with the Principles for Responsible Timber Construction.
