In celebration of International Sake Day, join us on the terrace at Panzer’s for a special evening that brings together two crafts rarely seen side by side: pizza and sake. For one night only, Circus Pizza and Mai Sake will team up to host a guided tasting led by pizzaiolo Kit Delamain and sake sommelier Erika Haigh.
Born and raised in Japan, Erika is an international kikisake-shi (SSI), founder of Mai, and co-owner of Moto – the UK’s first independent sake bar, shop and eatery. With WSET Level 3 qualifications in both wine and sake, she now serves as a judge at the International Wine Challenge and sits on the committee of the British Sake Association.
On the night, Erika will guide guests through four premium sakes, each paired with a Circus Pizza from Kit. From the Super Margherita to the donburi-inspired Steak Pizza and a playful Matcha Custard Pizza, every course has been considered to show the nuances of sake.
Over the course of two hours, guests will enjoy a relaxed but insightful tasting experience, with Kit and Erika sharing the stories behind each pairing and answering questions along the way. It’s a chance to discover sake through the lens of one of the UK’s foremost educators, while enjoying the boundary-pushing creativity of one of London’s most exciting pizzerias!
