CIT CEN Meeting - CommuniCATE project, Tactus Therapy & the CIT CEN toolkit
Thu 18 May 2017, 09:30 – 16:00 BST
Findings from the CommuniCATE project, live video link up with Megan Sutton of Tactus Therapy, CITCEN Toolkit next steps and more!
Join us for our next computers in therapy clinical excellence network (CIT CEN) meeting in Bristol. We'll be hearing the exciting outcomes from the CommuniCATE research project about the use of mainstream technologies in aphasia therapy (including Dragon vioce recognition software, Amazon Fire e-readers, Skype, WriteOnline and the therapy sofware Aphasia Scripts). Attendees will get a chance to hear how these technologies have been used to support reading, writing and speaking skills in aphasia therapy and will have a chance to try out some of the kit first hand.
We'll also be linking up with Megan Sutton live via video link to hear about the aphasia apps available through Tactus Therapy and the research behind them.
You'll hear from CIT CEN member Jon Hunt about a new semantic therapy he is developing and testing and you'll also have an opportunity to share news and reviews of any software or apps you are using in your practice, in our regular App Share segment.
Finally, you will learn all about our member-developed project, the CITCEN toolkit - a detailed resource which aims to help SLTs overcome barriers to technology use in their clinical practice. Attendees will have a chance to review and refine the existing kit, to hear about the exciting opportunities available for its dissmination and to influence what happens to it next!
Plus, of course, the essential opportunities for tea and networking will also be included.
