Leicester City Council is hosting a user group for organisations using Citizen Space and Dialogue. The event will take place on Wednesday 10 October 2018 at City Hall in Leicester.

User groups offer a valuable opportunity for anyone who works in public/stakeholder consultation to share insight and best practice and are a great way to learn what others are up to in your field.

Who is the user group for?

Digital leads, analysts, policy leads, communication managers – anyone using Citizen Space or Dialogue.

Generally most organisations send one or two people but please get in touch via accountmanagers@delib.net if you'd ideally like to bring more people. Tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

What should I expect?

Coffee and tea will be available from 9.30 before the event kicks off at 10.00.

A light lunch of sandwiches and snacks will be provided between 12.30 - 1.30 so please let Delib know if you have any dietary requirements by emailing accountmanagers@delib.net.

Expect talks on all things digital engagement, including the following:

• An opportunity to meet fellow Citizen Space and Dialogue users from across local and central government

• Show-and-tell of recent or upcoming engagement exercises by current users, reviewing the process and challenges of how you do consultation

• Product roadmap – we’ll talk through any upcoming plans for development and get your input

• GDPR – an opportunity to discuss how your organisation has responded to the new legislation and challenges you've overcome or are still facing

• Digital surgery on any other questions/topics requested - let us know if there's a particular topic or feature you'd like to discuss or have explained.

We need you!

These sessions work best with real examples so we encourage individuals from attending organisations to give a talk. If you're interested in sharing how you do great consultations or if you have a proven process, please email accountmanagers@delib.net.

At previous user groups there have been talks on topics like building a quality consultation process, how to structure analysis, digital transformation, managing promotion, and how to create great consultation content; we've also had reports of good consultations (and bad ones) and what has been learnt from them, and much more besides.

How to get to the event

By train: City Hall is approximately a 10 minute walk from Leicester train station.

By car: There is only disabled parking available at the venue itself. The nearest public car parks are the Rutland Centre on Halford Street (526 spaces, three minute walk) which costs £18 for six hours; Dover Street (164 spaces, seven minute walk) which costs £6 for six hours; or the Haymarket Centre (485 spaces, nine minute walk) which also costs £6 for six hours.
